Catbird (on the Yadkin) Press

• 1988-present Co-Founder with Toby Gordon and co-director of CATBIRD PRESS, a book press and studio specializing in small editions and on-of-a-kind handmade books. CATBIRD PRESS conducts workshops and lectures in the area of artist books and handmade book history. At CATBIRD PRESS we believe that if you love what you do, you will make something worthy of love. We have produced hundreds of handmade books and have only just begun.

• 1984-1987 Co-Founder and co-director of OUT-OF-HAND PRESS, a handmade book press operated at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Professional Storyteller

1979-present Storytelling and Puppet performances in schools, museums, festival

and libraries around the country, including performances with the Louisville

Symphony and at the Smithsonian Institute for American Art.

Disability Advocacy

1970-present Workshops and lectures that promote understanding of equal rights and

Justice issues as they relate to disability. Programs are geared to a wide range of

audiences that have included the Winston-Salem Police Department, Bowman

Gray School of Medicine, and The National Spina Bifida Association National

Conference, 1998.
